Dr. Weeldreyer, a lifelong resident of Arizona, began her teaching career in 2000. She graduated from Grand Canyon University (GCU) in 1994 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In the initial part of her career, she helped children and adolescents with mental health issues and special educational needs receive resources and support to thrive. She next pursued an educational career at Arizona State University in 1996. She obtained a Post-Baccalaureate Teacher Certification in Special Education and then a Master’s degree in Special Education in 2001.

Her teaching career began in the Peoria Unified School District as a specialized program teacher for students with emotional and multiple disabilities. In 2005-2008 she worked at Desert Ridge High School and Verrado High School as their Special Education Department Chair while teaching students with multiple disabilities. As a teacher, she also coached high school cross country, track-and-field, tennis, cheerleading, and Special Olympics. In 2007 she accepted the position of Head Men's and Women’s Cross Country Coach at GCU and in 2010 she was named Assistant Track-n-Field Coach.

In 2008, she stepped away from public school teaching to focus on her Doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Teacher Innovation. She completed her degree in 2010 from Arizona State University. She returned to the educational field in 2013. She worked at the Arizona Department of Education/Exceptional Student Services as the Recruitment, Retention, and Teacher Preparation Specialist. In 2014 she returned to the Peoria Unified School District as their Special Educational Instructional Coach/Strategist. In this role, she supported special education students in specialized programs for seven years. In 2021-2022, she took an administrative role as the Dean of Students at Paradise Valley High School.

She is honored to lead Fountain Hills Middle School and she looks forward to being actively present and engaged at community events as well as making positive connections with her staff, students, and families.

On a personal note, Dr. Weeldreyer enjoys spending time with husband and family. She and her husband have three children. In her free time, she enjoys running, hiking, and traveling.
