FHUSD Awarded $500,000 School Safety Grant

Last week Fountain Hills Unified School District was notified by the Office of Community Oriented Policing Services (the COPS Office), School

Violence Prevention Program, that the district was awarded $500,000 to use for school safety upgrades. We are excited to receive this funding and will be updating cameras, early notification and automation systems, and ornamental fencing among other projects. In addition to these projects, over the past year, FHUSD has added two security guards to McDowell Mountain Elementary School, one at Fountain Hills Middle School, and two at Fountain Hills High School. New ornamental security fencing was added to McDowell Mountain and the district is partnering with InformaCast early warning systems to increase our procedures.
