Child Find

Child FInd is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA 04) that requires Public Educational Agencies (PEA) to locate, identify, and evaluate all children with disabilities, aged birth through 21 years, who are in need of early intervention or special education services.

If you have concerns regarding your child’s development and live in the Fountain Hills School District boundaries, we offer a free monthly developmental screening to children between the ages of 2 years 9 months to 5 years old (who are not yet attending kindergarten).

Screenings Information

• Screenings are conducted by appointment only

• Regular screenings are held one Wednesday a month from 2:00 to 4:00 

• Location: McDowell Mountain Elementary School.

Additional Information

• For school-age children (ages 5-21) who are currently attending Fountain Hills Unified School District, please contact the child’s school administrator.

• For children younger than 3 years old, services are available through Arizona Early Intervention Program (AzEIP) or (888) 592-0140.

• For school-age children (ages 5-21) who reside within Fountain Hills Unified School District boundaries but do not attend Fountain Hills Schools, please contact the Director of Student Services at 480-664-5015.
